Canned tuna, the consumer price rises by 11.6% in one year - Dal Mare. 2023 was a difficult year for the canned fish sector: for canned tuna the increase in consumer price was 11.5%.
The Association of Fish Canners and Tonnare (Ancit) notes how the 20-30% increase in production costs was not transferred entirely to the consumer but was largely absorbed by the production companies. Only the price of extra virgin olive oil has reached 9 euros per kilo, while the refined one exceeds 8.50 euros.
