Claude Perdriel, 96, sold Historia to Les Échos (LVMH) for 2.5 million euros. Proceeds will be reinvested in Challenges, which he wants to reposition on the news magazine market.
L'Express, Le Point and L'Obs are already battling there, of which he was one of the founders in 1964 with Jean Daniel before selling it in 1998. The industrialist also controls the magazines L'Histoire, La Recherche and Sciences et Avenir.
