Construction slows in 2023 but levels remain high, says Istat. In December 2023, the seasonally adjusted index of construction production is estimated to grow by 4.4% compared to November.
On a trend basis, the raw index recorded a +2.6%, while the one adjusted for calendar effects grew by 9.9% (working days were 18 compared to 20 in December 2022). The performance of the fourth quarter was also positive in comparison with the previous one: production in construction increased by 5.7%.
