In December 2023, the seasonally adjusted index of construction production is estimated to grow by 4.4% compared to November. On a trend basis, the raw index recorded a +2.6%, while the one adjusted for calendar effects grew by 9.9% (working days were 18 compared to 20 in December 2022). The performance of the fourth quarter was also positive in comparison with the previous one: production in construction increased by 5.7%.

This was revealed by Istat by releasing the flash estimate for December: the index corrected for calendar effects fell by 0.1% compared to 2022, while the raw index fell by 0.7%.


    In December 2023, the seasonally adjusted index of construction production is estimated to grow by 4.4% compared to November, recording "the fifth consecutive monthly increase", specifies Istat.

On a trend basis, the raw index recorded a +2.6%, while the one adjusted for calendar effects grew by 9.9% (working days were 18 compared to 20 in December 2022).


    The performance of the fourth quarter was also positive in comparison with the previous one: production in construction increased by 5.7% compared to the third quarter.
