Eurovision 2024: why the case of Israel is debated between the participating countries. Israeli participation in the competition in May, in Malmö ( Sweden), is causing a stir.
Several fans openly display their support for the Palestinian cause on social networks and still demand exclusion from the country due to the situation in Gaza. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has just confirmed this Thursday that Israel will not be excluded from the competition as it stands. The competition may well be apolitical, according to its regulations, there have been dozens of examples of more or less serious departures from this principle.
