Ariel Sharon Metropolitan Park is one of the largest projects in the world in the field of environmental restoration. Among the main projects is the creation of a large artificial lake that will be used as a resort, water sports and recreation, with restaurants and shops along the promenade.
Also planned is the construction of a huge dynamic dam that will restrain the Ayalon stream, will allow control of the amount of runoff entering the park and will help prevent flooding. Other projects include improving the entrance complex and arranging a parking lot for 6,500 spaces.
