The Federal Network Agency is trying to protect people in Germany from telephone fraud. Scammers try to get data or money from unsuspecting people by phone call or text message – some numbers don't call you.
The Agency can only take action against telephone numbers that are communicated to them. If fraudsters call without a displayed phone number, the origin of the call cannot be clarified. As early as December 2022, there were warnings of an increase in calls without a number. Even displayed phone numbers can be switched off in order to prevent further fraud attempts.
