First female expedition to K2 for the 70th anniversary of the feat - Last hour. Organized by CAI to celebrate the first historic ascent of 1954 (ANSA) 70 years after the legendary feat of Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli, led by Ardito Desio.

4 Italian and 4 Pakistani athletes, organized by the CAI and sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and from that of Foreign Affairs. Plans to open the Olympics by planting the flag with the 5 circles on top of the K2.
