From domestic work 1% of GDP, families spend 14.3 billion - Last hour. In 2022 there were just under 900 thousand domestic workers and regular carers in Italy, with a reduction compared to 2021 of -7.9% (-76,548 workers): out of a total of 1.86 million domestic workers the share of irregular workers was instead equal to 51, 8%.

This is what emerges from the annual report on domestic work, promoted by the DOMINA Observatory, according to which this particular sector still offers a positive contribution to the Italian GDP, equal to 1%.
