A nauseating smell alerted the authorities who were carrying out an audit. Upon entering, they made an aberrant discovery: there were 501 coffins - 22 of them children's - and 200 consortium bags full of human remains.

Many of them didn't even have names. The discovery led the Municipality to file a criminal complaint with the UFI on duty in which it requested the "investigation of possible illegal acts regarding the unidentified bodies and skeletal remains found" The coffins were found in spaces that were not morgues nor were they intended for the preservation of corpses.
