Davide Ghiotto wins the 10,000m race at the World Ice Skating Championships in Calgary. The Vicenza native confirms the title he won last year in Heerenveen.

The 30-year-old also set the new Italian record for the distance, taking it from 12:41.35 to 12:38.32. The Canadian Ted-Jan Bloemen, bronze to another home skater, Graeme Fish, won the silver medal in the race. The Italian had already obtained a silver in the 5,00m event and gold in the team pursuit.
