41 KFOR soldiers, including 11 Italians, were injured in serious clashes between NATO troops and Serb demonstrators in Zvecan, northern Kosovo. Of the 11 Italian wounded, three are serious but not life-threatening: they would have suffered burns and fractures.

The military used stun grenades, while demonstrators threw rocks, bottles and other objects at NATO troops.Zvecan is one of the four largest municipalities in northern Kosovo with a Serb majority and new ethnic Albanian mayors were elected on 23 April due to the electoral boycott of Serbs.
