Giovanni Barreca, 54, killed his family, killing his wife and two children, is said to be a religious fanatic. According to some rumors, a couple of acquaintances were also involved in the crime.
A third 17-year-old daughter who apparently witnessed the events and was rescued by the 118 paramedics was saved. The victims are Antonella Salamone and her children Kevin, 16, and Emanuel, 5. The crime would be particularly brutal: one of the killed children would have been tortured and strangled with chains.
