The Spanish Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Miguel Bosé in a case opened by former partner Ignacio Palau. The court has in fact rejected the request of the latter (contrary to the will of the singer) to recognize the four minors as brothers.

According to the court, the fact that the four children had lived together by virtue of their parents' relationship is not sufficient to automatically determine an official paternity relationship in the event of a lack of biological relationship. For that purpose the law provides for recourse to adoption. The biological children of Bosé and Palau are the result of the practice of surrogacy.
