New crackdown by the G7 and the EU on the import of Russian diamonds. indirect restrictions on imports have come into force within G7 framework since March.

Starting today, "all Russian rough or polished diamonds from one carat upwards, or worked in third countries, will therefore be banned from G7 market, including the EU," says EU Presidency sources.
