The Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM) of Seine-et-Marne has indicated that it supports chiropractic, sophrology, acupuncture and etiopathy sessions. Doctors and physiotherapists reacted strongly when they discovered this Tuesday.

“Beyond the financing with public money of practices which have not scientifically demonstrated their effectiveness, the message sent to liberal health professionals is disastrous,” thundered the Alizé physiotherapist union this Wednesday. These so-called “unconventional” or “alternative” medicines or practices, which are booming, are not reimbursed by the “classic” Health Insurance system.
