The marketing of 'long-aged Parmigiano Reggiano' aims to reach 100 thousand wheels in the next few years. There are currently around 60 dairies that have specialized in the production of long-matured cheeses while marketing has exceeded 65 thousand wheels per year.

Exports, which have grown progressively, have come to represent 47% of the market in over 50 countries around the world. In 2023, the 292 dairie Consortium produced over 4 million wheels, equal to approximately 160 thousand tons, with milk milked from 267 thousand cows.
