No to relaunch of relocation and forms of economic compensation, yes to the blocking of departures and repatriations. Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, had a telephone conversation with his Austrian counterpart Gerhard Karner on issues related to the negotiation of the European Asylum and Migration Pact.
The conversation was useful to underline the Italian position in the ongoing negotiations, says the Interior Ministry. The Justice and Home Affairs Council is scheduled to meet in Luxembourg next week to discuss the issue.
