Prysmian receives 1.9 billion euro contract in Great Britain. As part of the contract, Prysmian will supply an important high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system for the development of the Eastern Green Link 2 network.
The EGL2 link will be crucial for the transmission of electricity between Scotland and England. It will be one of the first cable systems commissioned in the UK to use 525 kV (kilovolt) HVDC technology with insulation extruded in XLPE.
