Rahul Gandhi officially stands for election in India. Accompanied by thousands of supporters, he registered the name (ANSA) Gandhi is the son, grandson and great-grandson of former prime ministers.

He has already suffered two heavy defeats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose victory in these elections is also clearly expected. The parliamentary elections will begin on 19 April and will be held in India's states of Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan, as well as in Delhi.
