Samarate massacre, life sentence confirmed for Maja - last minute. Court of Assizes of Appeal of Milan has confirmed the sentence of life imprisonment and a year and a half of daytime isolation for Alessandro Maja.
Maja hit his 16-year-old daughter Giulia and his wife Stefania Pivetta, 56, with a hammer while they were sleeping. Immediately afterwards the man also tried to kill his eldest son Nicolò, 23 years old, who was left seriously disabled and today absent from the trial.
