World Sleep Day has been celebrated every year since 2008, on the Friday before the spring equinox. The day is promoted worldwide by the World Sleep Society and, in Italy, by the Italian Association of Sleep Medicine.

This year, World Sleep Day is dedicated, in particular, to the theme of Sleep Equity for global health. Addressing sleep equity will reduce disparities and help improve human health and well-being around the world, according to the Worldsleep.org/worlds-sleep-day.
