European stock markets are rising with investors showing optimism about the trend in global economic growth. Markets are boosted by the semiconductor sector after Nvidia announced a series of investments in the sector.
The Stoxx 600 index gains 0.6% to 494 points, and reaches historic highs after the initial jump, reaching 496 points. The technology sector recorded a jump of 2.9%. The automotive sector is strong (+2%), with Mercedes (+4.8%) recording clearly growing results. On the currency front, the euro rises to 1.0852 against the dollar.
