Fabio Fognini will not be at the Masters1000 in Monte Carlo. The Ligurian announced his withdrawal on social media shortly before the match in which he was supposed to face Lorenzo Sonego.

"Everyone knows how much I love this tournament. Unfortunately my body is not ready at the moment and I have to take a few days to rest and get back into shape," he wrote on Instagram. The Italian is the first Italian ever to win a Masters 1000. He was champion in 2019 in Montecarlo.
