A study by the University of Glasgow examined what makes a person appear rich or poor, according to superficial judgments. People with a narrower and sharper face, a smiling mouth, raised eyebrows, close-set eyes, rosy cheeks and a lighter, warmer complexion are considered wealthier.

The results suggest that class stereotypes explain the connection between facial appearance and judgments about people's social status. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who are both billionaires, have some of the features mentioned in the study.
