A huge sinkhole suddenly formed this Wednesday, February 21, in the middle of a road in Naples, Italy. The hole, which is practically the width of the cobblestone street, swallowed up two cars.

Two passengers were on board the vehicles. They were able to be extricated from the sinkhole with the help of firefighters and soldiers. According to local authorities, the accident was caused by a ruptured pipe under the street. The basements of two buildings were flooded and one building was evacuated.
