World Oceans Day has been celebrated in many countries since 1992 every year on June 8. UN: "Planet Ocean: the tides are changing" is the slogan chosen by the United Nations for the Day.
The ocean covers most of the land, but only a small part of its waters have been explored. This year is the 10th of the annual World Oceans day Photo Contest and a celebratory exhibition is planned at the UN headquarters in New York. The theme of 2023, Ocean Planet, is Ocean Planet.
