The business climate measured by INSEE has been declining since February 2023. After the pandemic in 2020, the economic situation gave them little respite.
"After the health crisis, craftsmen had regained room for maneuver, momentum and a real desire to bounce back," says Élodie Charvet. "Since the war in Ukraine and its aftermath, we feel disturbed and more worried," says another craftsman from the Rhône region. The post-Covid rebound has been followed by cascading unrest, from the shortage of raw materials to inflation.
