Because if French growth manages to withstand the soaring prices, with a GDP up 0.2% in the first quarter of 2023, the business climate measured by INSEE has been declining since February 2023. And as in many sectors of the economy, this is not the time for optimism among artisans. After the pandemic in 2020, the economic situation gave them little respite. The post-Covid rebound has indeed been followed by cascading unrest, from the shortage of raw materials to inflation to the energy crisis or the social crisis. "After the health crisis, craftsmen had regained room for maneuver, momentum and a real desire to bounce back. But since the war in Ukraine and its aftermath, we feel disturbed and more worried."
