At least 3,00 people have been evacuated on both sides of the Dnipro River in southern Ukraine. Authorities appear to be preparing to resettle thousands in the wake of escalating flooding.

The area had 60,00 residents before the dam breached, and hundreds of thousands before the war broke out in February 2022. President Putin blamed Ukraine for the act, calling it a "barbaric war crime" in the service of the West, even though the dam is under Russian control.
