The treasurer of the Portuguese football club of Champigny-sur-Marne was attacked and robbed. Two men, hooded and gloved, threatened him with a handgun and hit him with the butt to seize his bag which contained several thousand euros.
They left with part of the funds from this community football club. The town, since the 1960s, has welcomed a strong Portuguese community, particularly in what was the largest slum in France. “I’ve been coming here for thirty years and this is the first time it’s done this to me,” says Joao.
