[HIGHLIGHTS] “It’s extremely rare”: a woman gives birth on line 5 of the Paris metro

A woman gave birth in a metro line 5 on Sunday morning in Paris. Emergency services were able to transport the woman and her newborn, who are doing well.

Because of the event, line 5 was suspended from 10:50 a.m. to 11:50A.M. between République and Jaurès stations. The woman was in her thirties and gave birth at the Gare du Nord in the direction of Bobigny. The Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) transported the mother and newborn after the birth.
