Around 8 p.m., the seven balconies of a facade of the building adjoining his, in the Vauban residence, in Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes), suddenly collapsed. Miraculously, no one was injured.

The building was immediately evacuated and a security order issued for 24 apartments. A structural study must also make it possible to rule out any risk of recurrence in this building and the ten others in the residence, the exterior appearance of which appears, at first glance, rather healthy. The causes of this disaster remain unknown. A security order will be issued to this effect by the town hall services for the 24 apartments in the building. In total, 39 people were evacuated. Nearly ten of them will be rehoused by city services. “Everyone is anxious. We are still a little afraid that the same thing will happen to us,” says Dolores, who has lived in this “well-maintained” residence for 28 years.
