The Rhône should have 118 fewer primary schools at the start of the 2024 school year, warns the Snudi-FO union. A trend which follows the national and departmental demographic dynamics linked to the decline in the birth rate.

In mid-January, the rector demanded an academic “rebalancing” between Ain and theRhône, to justify the elimination of 60 professorships on this side of the Saône. “Faced with this unprecedented bloodletting, which will lead to an unprecedented deterioration in the working conditions of staff and the learning conditions of students,” warns the union.
