A boat carrying migrants capsized this Wednesday on the Caribbean coast of Panama, in front of the inhospitable Darién jungle. The authorities do not know the exact number of victims or their nationalities.

Reports from media outlets such as Telemetro and TVn2 stated that the boat was carrying 25 migrants, four of whom died and another seven were missing. The area is not far from a route through a deadly stretch of jungle known as the Darien Gap, where many U.S.-bound migrants travel on foot.
