A specimen of kingfish found on the beach in Procida, weighing 45 kg. Kingfish usually lives in open waters and at depths between 100 and 400 metres.

According to some recent studies, the kingfish maintains a constant body temperature, and as happens with mammals and birds, its meat is considered very valuable. In consideration of its high weight, the specimen was recovered by an islander with the help of some friends. The kingfish (scientific name Lampris guttatus) is a species widespread mainly in temperate and tropical waters.
