A whole year without a fire alarm. Fischen was incorporated into Pähl on May 1, 1978.
The local fire department had already existed as a close-knit community for 95 years. For the centenary in 1983, the fire station was inaugurated in a convenient location in Vorderfischen at the junction to Dießen. Almost all 51 active fire brigade men and women came in uniform, as well as many deserving but now passive members for reasons of age.
