Aid trucks were brought in at the direction of the political echelon to the north of the Gaza Strip. The humanitarian aid was brought in using six trucks through "Passage 96" as part of an experimental pilot in order to prevent Hamas from taking over the aid.

Last month, more than a hundred deaths were reported as a result of an attempted takeover by armed gangs in an attempt to loot the trucks. The trucks underwent a strict security check by Israeli security officials at the Kerem Shalom crossing and contain aid from the World Food Organization "WFP"
