The Akita inu and Shiba inu are Japanese hunting dogs born in the 1930s. Both belong to group 5, which includes primitive dog breeds and Spitz-type dogs.

The Shiba Inu thrives in deep relationships with his master, based on respect and tenderness. The Akita Inu, on the other hand, is often described as courageous, proud and sometimes stubborn. The two dogs look very similar, with their fox-like heads, triangular ears and curved tails.
