Residents of a building in Saint-Étienne discovered a newborn in a corridor leading to the cellars. The inhabitants, hearing babies' cries, were guided by the sound of the child before discovering him with fresh traces of blood, proving a recent birth.

Emergency services treated the child in a state of hypothermia, without his life being in danger. He was transported to a hospital center, where he was still hospitalized this Sunday morning. The mother, taken to hospital, was placed in police custody and will be heard as soon as her health permits.
