Public broadcasters in Germany continued to broadcast their standard programs. ARD and ZDF received criticism and ridicule for their reporting on Iran's attack on Israel.
According to Israel, the attack repelled almost all of the 300 drones and missiles fired by Iran. Seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were killed in the attack on the Israeli consulate in Damascus, Syria on April 1st. The British BBC and the US news channel CNN adapted their programs to the current situation in the Middle East.. Elton and Capital Bra puzzled over the answers to unusual questions on ARD. The public broadcaster decided against interrupting the current program for a special program - the first reports of the attack emerged around 10 p.m. - and showed the quiz show "Who knows something like that XXL", which lasted over three hours, in full length. The Iranian attack was only discussed in the subsequent daily topics - around 90 minutes after the initial reports. A decision that caused a lot of criticism and ridiculed - even from within our own ranks.
