Catherine Pgard, appointed in 2011 by Nicolas Sarkozy, reached the age limit since March 2021. Emmanuel Macron announced to her that she would ultimately have to give up her place to Christophe Leribault, current director of the Musée d'Orsay.

Announced as imminent in recent weeks, delayed by a few more days by the reshuffle, the appointment will be presented to the Council of Ministers next Wednesday. Pgard suggested that she had received assurances to remain in post at least until the end of the Olympic and Paralympic Games which will take place.
