A gendarme in his thirties sowed panic and death Tuesday night near the synagogue of the Ghriba on the Tunisian island of Djerba. He is armed with an assault rifle and is believed to be riding a quad bike.
A few hours earlier, he would have shot one of his colleagues near the port, about fifteen kilometers away, before seizing his ammunition. It is a little less than 20 p.m. in Tunisia (21 p.M., French time) when he approaches the synagogue.
