AWO closes many daycare centers: providers want capital city allowance. Since November 2020, around 130,000 employees and civil servants in Berlin's public sector have been receiving the capital allowance of 150 euros per month.
Affected parents or visitors should be informed in advance of the closures and also about options for emergency care in the day care centers, although this cannot be guaranteed across the board. The welfare association is active, for example, in child and youth welfare, assistance for the disabled and work for the elderly.
