The three new apartment blocks in the Peißenberg Barbarahof are almost finished. The first residents are expected to move into the timber frame buildings in September.

The apartment block along Loristraße should be ready for occupancy at the end of the year. The rental price for the apartments will be 11.5 euros per square meter. But through “income-oriented funding” (EOF), future residents will effectively only pay between five and seven euros. The densification of the Barbarah of will ultimately cost around 12.8 million euros. It is a “good symbol” for the combination of tradition and innovation, says the town hall boss. The three buildings, which fit wonderfully architecturally into the overall ensemble, each reached the shell construction stage after three weeks. In contrast to prefabrication, erecting the wooden module parts for the two-storey apartment blocks was relatively quick. “This was a very gentle construction method for the residents of the old blocks,” says managing director Florian Steinbach.
