For the first time in more than 100 years, a bear has been detected in the district of Traunstein. The bear fell into a photo trap in the southwest of the county.
It is possible that it is the same animal that killed three sheep near Oberaudorf in April. The local population and those seeking recreation are asked to observe the rules of conduct when dealing with wild animals and to be attentive and cautious during activities in the great outdoors. The LfU explains: "Individualization based on a photo or step seal is not possible"
