Because of the 2019 earthquake, the village of Teil must demolish its church. Erected in 1897, in the heart of the village, the imposing stone walls of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption could not withstand the violent tremors that occurred that day.
“Believer or not, we realize that everyone is attached to this church. It is the collective memory that will disappear. It’s a big emotion,” confides the councilor.
