Processionary caterpillars are a real poison for overly curious canines. A resident of Milly-la-Forêt (Essonne) launched a petition among the inhabitants of her town.

A permanent municipal decree now obliges the owners of contaminated trees to do what is necessary to eradicate the processionaries. The pests are now present everywhere in France, but they are especially present in the south of the country and in the north-east of France, where they can be found in pines.
