Biden's senior adviser will arrive in Israel this week to hold talks about Rafah and the kidnapping deal. The person responsible for the Middle East in the White House, Brett McGurk, will arrive on Thursday after a round of talks in Egypt.
He is expected to meet with Netanyahu, Gallant and Israeli officials. The American administration is very concerned about Israeli action in the southernmost city in Gaza, and is interested in making an additional effort to promote a deal to release the abductees.
