Bus secured after accident on A44: motorway open again. Police spokesman said this morning that the bus had been removed and the road in the direction of Kassel had been reopened.
According to the police's initial findings, the accident was preceded by a medical emergency suffered by the 53-year-old bus driver. The bus had veered off the road to the right between the Unna and Werl junctions. There he crashed into the protective barrier protruding from the ground and fell onto his side on the embankment.
